<p> begins a paragraph

Paragraph tags are the most ubiquitous and user-friendly of all the HTML tags. Inserted at the beginning of each paragraph, the <p> tag skips a line before each block of text. There's no need to close off the <p> tag with a </p> ; it's implied when you go on to the next tag.

The HTML for two plain-Jane paragraphs will look something like this:

<p>Here I am in supposedly peaceful NZ and the 
cop is suggesting that we put deadbolts on
our BEDROOM doors! Can you imagine? She also
recommended placing tripwires, connected to 
sirens, all around the house. Sheesh. 

<p>Of course, when we went home, we noted our front
window was open, our bathroom window was open,
and my roommate Wendy had found her bedroom
window open, even though she absolutely swears
it was shut when she left.  Hmmmm..... 

They'll appear like this:
